My car was acting very clunky after taking it to another shop; and then the dreaded red engine light came on. I called Stamps, and Bill answered and was very friendly. He got me an appointment first thing in the morning. They did a complete diagnostics on the car and found that the prior shop had steam-cleaned my engine and when they did, water had got under some of the wires which resulted in a misfire on one of the spark plugs. After some work, they were able to get my car in good working condition and I paid a reasonable price. The other thing that was cool was that Bill handed me a revolving loyalty card that accrued 5% of my total bill that could be used down the line. So that every time I would need service, 5% of what I paid, would be added to the card and then I could use that money to help pay for repairs. I thought that was a great way to increase loyalty. My car is an old beater, but it still runs very well and we'd like to keep it a few more years. Bill is an excellent front man as he puts you at ease immediately and helps you not to look like a fool when asking questions. Bill is someone, I'd give a bag of rocks to (inside joke). Being new to the east valley, I was not looking forward to having to find a new, reliable auto shop that I could trust. Online reviews for Stamps Auto were great, and I now see why. I stopped by one day without an appointment to get a feel for the shop and chatted with Bill. He was friendly and helpful...even replaced a burned out turn signal bulb for me...free of charge! I brought my Toyota Sequoia back in for a full inspection the next day, and was very impressed with their electronic reports, including photos, which they email to you post inspection/service. Bill even took me out to my vehicle while it was still up on the rack so he and Aaron, the Service Tech who worked on my vehicle, could show me their findings. The entire process was very transparent, which was refreshing. The repair estimates were reasonable. Yes, I could probably search and find a discount shop with discounedt rates and discounted service and save a few bucks on the recommended repairs, but from my experience, an honest shop with reasonable rates will always save you money and headaches in the long run.
