WHAT DOES A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT MEAN PART 3

Part three of a series on the check engine light explores some more of the meanings of this cryptic display… Get auto repair in Mesa How Can I Reset the Check Engine Line? How can I reset the check engine light? First off, be aware that this light doesn’t come on on some mysterious whim of your engine. It means that there is a problem somewhere. Resetting the light itself isn’t the best idea until you know what is behind it being on in the first place. As your auto repair shop we don’t recommend resetting the check engine light. Resetting the check engine light by unplugging the battery will also wipe out all of the data in the computer and merely pause the check engine light, not reset it permanently. Then you will have the double whammy of having the check engine light on and no data as to why. CAN YOU ... read more
